I suspect that Greg has more issues than stated here. Working 40 years at a good job should generate savings. Naperville is expensive. I lived in Berwyn so I could save for possible unemployment. We never purchased anything on credit but kept our expenses down. We are immigrants from Germany and as such did not expect the US Government to rescue us if we have bad luck.
